#BrianAndKerri2020
I’m sure that a pandemic wedding was not on your 2020 bingo card. It wasn’t on ours either. Yet here we will stand before all of you, mountain-internet permitting, to swear our love to each other.
We want to start our lives right now. We want to be responsible for each other. We want to start a family. In other words, we love each other. We are committed to each other. We love our families. There’s no better time than now to declare it.
We chose June 17th because our birthdays are the 14th and the 20th. We’ve always been bad at celebrating those birthdays so we figured that by unifying them, and us, we might start a new celebration tradition. What started as a late-night, crazy what-if will now be the bedrock of our new life together. Our chosen date also falls 53 years and 5 days after the Loving v Virginia Supreme Court case. The landmark ruling struck down anti-miscegenation laws in this country and is what allows us to wed today. We would ask that you keep in mind that this happened within many of your lifetimes and that this country still has a long march to make sure that Black Lives Matter.
Thanks for joining us if you were able, or for taking the time to catch up on our day after the event. We love you.
With love,
